Fishing Reports

05/23/2020

We had a lot of current again in the morning but when that backed off, SEA BASS fishing got pretty good and we had plenty of LING.  We caught more LING than yesterday.  It rained alot which made it a little uncomfortable but aside from that it was fine.

Come enjoy the day fishing with family and friends.  Purchase your tickets on our website.

Fishing started slow this morning due to the current but once it backed off, fishing was REALLY GOOD.  The rest of the day we caught SEA BASS and LING and had lots of limits.

We had another VERY GOOD day of fishing.  There were plenty of KEEPER SEA BASS and some were large.  We also had LING, COD, WINTER FLOUNDER and POLLOCK.  We got some reports of BLUEFISH but in spite of our best efforts, we didn’t have any luck with them. There was lots of action and lots of fishing time today.

See the great pictures of today’s fun trip on our Gallery Page.

With very enthusiastic and eager fishermen, we headed offshore and proceeded to catch some nice KEEPER SEA BASS, some KEEPER SIZED  POLLOCK and some KEEPER SIZED CODFISH.  We had a MONKFISH to go along with that and a good catch of LING.  Everyone was happy and it was a great way to start the season.  We are going right back out there again tomorrow.

Purchase your tickets on our website and we will see you tomorrow morning.

The GOLDEN EAGLE would like to invite all health care workers on an afternoon trip absolutely free to say thank you

Press Release: For Immediate Release, Belmar, NJ

Hello, my name is Capt. Rich Falcone of the Golden Eagle.

We are a 100ft Fishing & Cruise boat located in the Belmar Marina on Rt. 35 in Belmar.

Many businesses including ours have been closed due the coronavirus, but we are starting to win the battle and will be back in business shortly because of the PHENOMENAL EFFORTS OF OUR HEALTH CARE WORKERS!!

These individuals have been risking their lives, working incredibly long & stressful hours, being away from family & friends to help us be healthy and they are WINNING THE BATTLE!

As a way of giving back to the health care workers of Monmouth & Ocean counties we will be dedicating the Wednesday Afternoon trip each week for health care workers and their families. And ONLY health care workers & their families!

ALL HEALTH CARE WORKERS & THEIR FAMILIES ARE INVITED ABSOLUTELY FREE TO JOIN US ON OUR WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON FISHING & SUNSET CRUISE TRIP FOR AN AFTERNOON OF RELAXING, FISHING & CRUISING IN THE ATLANTIC OCEAN AND WE WILL INCLUDE A HOT DOG & SOFT DRINK FOR EVERYONE!!

Click on link to view a short video of the Golden Eagle : https://www.goldeneaglefishing.com/nursesafternoonout

Obviously, everyone cannot come at once and we want you to be as comfortable and safe as possible, so the number of people per trip will be strictly limited. To allow as many as possible to take advantage of this opportunity there are a few rules that we need to put in place.

Each group (group sizes are limited to 4) that boards the Golden Eagle must have at least one health care worker present and they must show a valid worker ID showing the name of the health care facility that they represent. The remainder of the people in the group can be whoever you want to spend an afternoon with (family or friends)
YOU MUST MAKE A RESERVATION! Reservations are easy to make on our website www.goldeneaglefishing.com, by clicking on the health care workers starburst and following the instructions or visit us on Facebook! (Our website developers are working from home and all the programing required for reservations is in process and will be complete by the time they allow us to be back in business.) Wednesday Afternoon trips are scheduled from June 24 through Sept 2 (weather permitting). They depart at 4:30pm and return at 8:30pm.
WE WANT EVERYONE WHO JOINS US TO HAVE A GREAT TIME!

We had a really good Special Offshore Sea Bass Trip with weather warmer than the last time and with the wind coming up around 4am and then it laid back out.

There were many limits of SEA BASS and several SEA BASS in the 6-1/2 lb. to 7-1/2 lb. range.  The first pool winner was a 7-1/2 lb. SEA BASS but it was beat out by the 2nd pool winner with an 8 lb. CODFISH.

We also had PORGIES and a few WHITING.  The BLUES & BONITO had left for the season.

Our annual OFFSHORE SEA BASS trip got back late yesterday afternoon and it was phenomenal!!!

First, I want to thank my CREW - SCOTT & GREG  for really helping in getting this trip rescheduled to Saturday/Sunday. And a special thanks to Steve Boxer who was also super helpful in the rescheduling process.  We were fighting the weather and we only had a small window to pull it off and with everyone's cooperation WE DID.

We left as early as we could because I knew the grounds would be crowded and they were, but we got there first which turned into a huge advantage as other boats tried to get on some of spots but couldn't because we had them boxed out. In fact, I could open a tackle store with all the tackle that the Super Hawk customers left in our anchor lines and at times they were no more than 50 feet from us.

When we arrived in the dark and started fishing we were catching some Bluefish and shortly thereafter, the BONITO took over, big fat BONITO. It was sensational BONITO fishing all night and into the daylight, at times there were a dozen or more fish on. Everyone had all the BONITO they wanted, some ended up with up to 40 BONITO apiece!!!!!

Also in the dark, we did catch some BLUES and we picked at some SEA BASS.

Once the sun came up, it got warm & comfortable. And the SEA BASS & PORGIES really turned on. We were able to slide around on the pieces of bottom that we had picked and we ended up with a BOAT LIMIT OF SEA BASS TO 7LBS and released many more!!! And it was all the PORGIES you wanted plus some LING.

Those that LIMITED on the SEA BASS early went back to BONITO fishing and had one on virtually every cast.

IGOR's 7lb SEA BASS won both pools which means he has a lot more money to buy himself some Christmas gifts.

The FOOD was FANTASTIC - everybody contributed to the effort and there was enough food to last a long long long time.

Everyone ate what they wanted and took whatever else they wanted - whatever  food was left over (which was considerable) was donated to the local Homeless Shelter.

I want to THANK ALL OF OUR GREAT CUSTOMERS FOR A WONDERFUL 2019 SEASON & I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL NEXT SEASON.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE !!!!!!!!!

We had another VERY VERY GOOD DAY OF STRIPER FISHING and it was a great way to end the Striper season. We had a boat limit of slot fish, some keepers and an uncountable number of shorts that all got thrown back. It was very good action all day with a lot of birds around and the ocean was nice. It was a little cool early this morning but turned out to be a beautiful day.
