Belmar Marina NJ. 100' Golden Eagle Party Boat, Charter Boat, Fishing and Cruises

JANUARY 3rd 2010

Had a decent Ling & Cod trip today with a nice catch of Ling, some of which were large! 9 keeper Cod on board today to around 8lbs or so caught on clams with a good amount of short cod returned to the water. Fishermen braved a hearty west wind and 4-6ft seas to come out and enjoy a pretty decent day of fishing. The day started slow but we found the right few spots later on and the fishing was pretty good!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The 2010 Season will begin with either MACKS or COD, LING & BLACKFISH. We are still at the yard completing our winter maintenance. The weather has been somewhat uncooperative as we are giving the Golden Eagle a fresh coat of hull paint. We hope to be back in the water by the weekend 01/09. Check the message board on our home page or give me a call!

The Mack bite has been dismal at best so far, stay tuned for more updates!

Hope to see you aboard soon!

December 5th
Another Saturday with Horrible weather!   I would like to thank all of the folks and kids who joined us on Thanksgiving morning for some really fun bluefish and striper fishing. Many of the young fisher persons caught there first blue or striper ever! Congrats to them for getting in the game and pulling there first fish over the rail. Fishing was pretty good after a slower start but the bite turned on and all aboard were able to catch what they came for! What a fun trip for me and the crew to help the young folks catch some fish. Thanks to the Moms & Dads for coming out! Pics are up ion the photo page.

fishing remained solid for a few days and started to taper off last Sunday the 30th of Nov with only a pick of fish in some not so nice conditions. We stayed at the dock most of the week preparing for dry dock and our upcoming USCG inspection. The Golden Eagle will be coming out of the water on Monday Dec 6th for hull inspection and some fresh paint and maintenance and will return to Belmar the week of the 21st and hopefully look to do some MACK Fishing! Watch our message board on the home page for details

There has been nothing short of EXELLENT striper fishing mixed with some large blues! Saturdays bass bite was Awesome with the majority of fishermen aboard the Golden Eagle taking there limit of keeper stripers and almost everyone taking at least one keeper and returning multiple shorts to the water. The big blues were mixed in and provided alot of extra action.
Todays striper bite was not as good and much fewer keepers were taken. The big blues came aboard at a steady pace.
We have seen steady Bass & Blues action all week!

TAKE A KID FISHING THANKSGIVING MORNING! 7:30AM-12:30PM

November 15th
After not being able to sail most of the week due to the Nor-Easter, the Golden Eagle is out today fishing in the swells. The report from Capt Rich as of about 10:00AM was "excellent fishing" with over a dozen keeper bass to around 18 pounds or so and perhaps another 20 or so shorties. The big blues to 13 pounds are also coming over the rail at a good pace on jigs. Prior to the storm, the bass and blues bite was good and it looks like the storm did not change a thing.

We are sailing daily for bass & blues 7:30AM-2:30PM

Thanksgiving day is "Take A Kid" - Sailing 7:30AM - 12:30 PM. Great fares for the kids and adults, goodies, fishing instruction for the kids, and some great fishing fun. Charlie's Gally will be open for Breakfast!
Call for details (732) 681-6144.

November 8th
The bluefish continue to bite well on jigs with a mix bag of fish from 6 lbs. to well into the teens. Blues are also being taken on bait. The striper action has been hot and cold with a few good days with nice keepers and days like Sat & Sunday with few stripers in the mix.

Take a kid fishing Thanksgiving Morning, come on out and enjoy a great morning of fishing!

November 1st
Stripers have entered the mix of big blues during the day trips on jigs with some keepers being caught on each trip when weather conditions have allowed us to sail. Stripers to 22lbs have been boated with up to 8-10 keepers on each trip. Big blues have been grabbing the jigs as well producing some great fall action. Saturdays bite was not as good with very high wind conditions and rough seas. A fair catch of blues and a few stripers mad up the catch for the day. Improving weather conditions should help the striper bite continue to get better. TAKE A KID FISHING THANKSGIVING DAY RETURNS THIS YEAR 7:30AM-12:30PM THANKSGIVING!
